The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Donald Uitto can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: To the Family of Don Uitto: As a former graduate of Westwood High School have fond memories of the Principal one of which to share. On our Senior skip day in 1976 a group of friends went shopping in Marquette. Who do we meet? Our dear school principal! The next day he called us all into his office trying to offer some form of 'discipline' while hiding a smile on his face! This is the way I remember your loved one who treated everyone with respect and kindness. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Sincerely, A former student, Rebecca (Honkala) Halonen, Phoenix, AZ

Condolence: Don will be missed. He was a sweet man, I got to know him better when he came to live at Eastwood. I respect and appreciate all the things he did in his life, serving his country as a pilot, helping to shape the future of the children under his command as a principle and superintendent, and most of all, for the wonderful children he raised. I am so lucky to be part of this family and am a better person for having known "Uncle Donald". We will see you again when the Lord calls us home. God Bless. Sandi Mager

Condolence: I was so grateful that Don hired me at Westwood. The years I worked under him were rewarding. He did run a tight-ship and because of that, it made our teaching much easier and enjoyable. I am sorry for your loss and will remember Don and you in my prayers. Kay

Condolence: Don was my principal when I was a very young, inexperienced teacher at Westwood. I was the first special education teacher at the new high school and Don was always very helpful and kind to me. He was well respected and will be remembered as a great principal. My thoughts are with you in this difficult time.
