Ishpeming

James A. Robinson, 73, of 923 N. Fifth Street, Ishpeming, passed away at 10:21 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Mather Nursing Center where he had resided since March 16th.

Jim was born February 22, 1939 in Negaunee to William J. and Frances A. (Bolduc) Robinson, attended Ishpeming High School, and was a lifelong Ishpeming resident. He was employed as a plant repairman at the Humboldt and Tilden Mines for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Co.

Mr. Robinson was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Ishpeming. He was also a member of the Superior A’s, and was known as “Dr. A.” Jim was an avid bowler on Wednesday night’s in the CCI league. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved camping.

Surviving are 2 sons: Louis Wise of Florida and Glen Bonetti of North Carolina; 3 daughters: Gena Conradson of Ishpeming, Frances Keng of Texas and Laurie (Greg Guidebeck) Robinson of Ishpeming; 7 grandchildren: David, Ryan, Erik, Tony, Mathew, Eric and Jamie; 4 great grandchildren, a brother, John (Betty) Robinson of Ishpeming, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Darlene J. Robinson on March 15, 2010, and a brother, William Robinson.

Honoring Jim’s wishes, no public services will be held. Private graveside services will be held later in the spring.
