Obituary for BRUCE CLAIR BEAUCHAINE

Bruce Clair ‘Bruno’ Beauchaine, 74, of County Road, Negaunee, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, March 8, 2018 at his home in the loving care of his family and Lake Superior Hospice.
Bruno was born October 2, 1943 in Ishpeming to Alfred and Lempi (Alongo) Beauchaine and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1962. He was a United States Navy Veteran, having served two tours aboard the USS Talladega during the Vietnam War. Following his service to his country, Bruno was employed by Cleveland Cliffs Iron Co. for a few years before working as a custodian for Northern Michigan University.
Bruno was a life member of VA Romo Post #3165, Negaunee VFW. He was a ‘jack-of-all-trades,’ able to fix anything and always willing to help whether it was mechanical, electrical or plumbing. Bruno enjoyed birdwatching, Negaunee Pioneer Days and the Saturday parade, an occasional trip to the casino, and loved his Sunday coffee time with family.
Surviving are his son, Jeffery Beauchaine of the United Kingdom; two brothers, Steven ‘Whitey’ Beauchaine of Negaunee and Tom (Shirley) Beauchaine of Perch Lake; five sisters: Geraldine (Bud) Bair of Napa, CA, Patricia LaFreniere of Negaunee; Marsha McClary of Detroit, Kay Beauchaine of Milwaukee and Susan (Ron) Erickson of Diorite; numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Brandy Leigh Beauchaine; brother and sister-in-law, Duane (Trina) Beauchaine, Sr., sister, Nancy Besola; brother-in-law, Rudolph ‘Rudy’ LaFreniere; and sister-in-law, Sharon Beauchaine.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Negaunee Cemetery.
