Angeline A. Moody, 99, of County Road 476, Tilden Township, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side early Wednesday morning, July 20, 2016 at UP Health System Bell.
Angeline was born March 12, 1917 in Gwinn to Joseph and Mary Paris, attended Gwinn Schools and was a lifelong area resident. She married Frank C. Moody on June 7, 1941 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gwinn and together they raised three children. Angeline was a proud and wonderful homemaker.
Mrs. Moody was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Ishpeming. In her free time she often volunteered locally and enjoyed knitting. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially summers at the family cottage on Noren Lake.
Surviving are her son, Frank ‘Bud’ Moody of Syracuse, NY; two daughters: Betty Nielsen of Hutchinson, MN and Lynn (Gary) Hutchinson of Ishpeming; four grandchildren: Barry (Jenny) Nielsen, Cherie (Brad) Sanderson, and Peter (Kaylee) and Christopher (Penny) Comment; 10 great-grandchildren: Sophie and Lydia Nielsen, Wesley and Marley Sanderson, McKenzie Beck, Makalynn and Kingsley Comment, Jaren and Jayce Kipling, and Journey Comment; brother, Louis (Pat) Paris of Gwinn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Frank C. Moody on May 21, 2009; her brother, Peter Paris during the Battle of the Bulge in WWII; her sister, Edith Sarvello; and her son-in-law, Chuck Nielsen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, July 29th at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Rev. Larry VanDamme officiating. Interment will take place in the Gwinn Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church for one hour prior to the funeral mass.
