Eugene Stanley Kojola, 80, of Sherman St., Negaunee, passed away peacefully at his home Friday, November 20, 2015.
Eugene was born December 16, 1934 in Hancock to Ralph and Ann (Riippi) Kojola and was a graduate of Hancock High School. He married Jean A. Englund on January 9, 1965 and they moved to Negaunee a few years later. Eugene was employed as a truck driver for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Co. for over 28 years.
Mr. Kojola was a member of Cleveland Cliffs Retiree Club. His hobbies included playing BINGO, camping, joking and storytelling, and dancing in his younger years.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Jean (Englund) Kojola; his daughter, Brenda (Steve) Beltrame of Sands Township; his granddaughter, Stephanie (Rick) Perrier of Marquette; 3 great-grandchildren: Sabrina Burgess and Amira and Cole Perrier; his brother, Kenneth (Pauline) Kojola of Dayton, OH; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Honoring Eugene’s wishes, no public services will be held.
