Rickey Lee Rogers, 53, of Ely Township, passed away at home early Sunday morning, July 5, 2015 surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Lake Superior Hospice.
Rickey was born June 28, 1962 in Ishpeming to Melvin G. ‘Sonny’ and Natalie A. (Arsenault) Rogers, Jr. and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Rogers attended Ishpeming schools and later earned his GED. Rickey was a talented mechanic and most recently worked for Northern Electric.
In his spare time he enjoyed boating, fishing, camping and cooking. He loved spending time with his family, especially his beloved children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his mother; his loving wife, Sandra M. (Treloar) Rogers of Ishpeming; 2 sons: Shawn and Brad Rogers, both of Ishpeming; 3 daughters: Crystal (James) Pietro, Amber (David) Nault and Kelsey (Matt) Isola, all of Ishpeming; 10 grandchildren: Mariah Cardoni, Sierra, James and Jacob Pietro, Dylan, Riley and Kaidence Nault, and John, Darlene and Aubrey Isola; brother, Allan Rogers of Negaunee; sister, Darlene (Dennis) Katajamaki of Grand Marais, MN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; an infant brother, Darren; paternal grandparents, Melvin ‘Chum’ (Hilda) Rogers; and maternal grandparents, Jim (Rose) Arsenault.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, July 8th at Koskey Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Tooman officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 2:00 pm until the time of services at 3:00 pm at the funeral home on Wednesday and also at a barbecue reception at his daughter Amber’s home, 112 Angeline St., Ishpeming, immediately following services. Interment will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery.
