Kenneth Harold Kontio, 85, of Heritage Dr., Negaunee, passed away Saturday morning, March 14, 2015 at the Mather Nursing Center.
Kenneth was born May 13, 1929 in Negaunee to Emil and Helen Kontio, attended Negaunee Public Schools and was a lifelong Negaunee resident. He was employed as a custodian and garbage man for Negaunee Township, and had also worked at the Huron Mountain Club.
Mr. Kontio was a former member of the Negaunee Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and photography.
Surviving are his son, Kenneth J. Kontio, Jr. of Negaunee Township; daughter, Helen Kontio of Palmer; and a grandson, Jordan Kontio. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Marilyn (Grenier) Kontio on September 30, 2011.
A private family celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held.
