Obituary for LYLE JOHN CHEVRETTE Jr.

Lyle John ‘Fly’ Chevrette, Jr., 69, of Republic Township, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday afternoon, March 16, 2023.

Lyle was born June 10, 1953 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Lyle J. and Jacqueline (Tossava) Chevrette, Sr., attended Central School in Kenosha County, and later served in the United States Army for four years. Following his service to his country, he worked as a technician for Snap-On Tools in Crystal Lake, Illinois, where he repaired air tools. His career with Snap-On spanned 38 years, retiring in 2014. Lyle married Laura L. Ehlen on July 6, 1991.

Mr. Chevrette was a member of CrossBridge Church in Ishpeming, and was also a member of Bikers for Christ and the American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the drums and listening to music. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, camping, deer hunting and being out in the woods with is beloved dog, Bebo. Lyle also liked basketball, baseball, and football, especially the Minnesota Vikings.

Surviving are his loving wife, Laura Chevrette; his children: Lyle Chevrette, III, Joe (Jamie) Glasel, and Jennifer MacDonald; his grandchildren, Evan and Emrie; his five sisters: Cheryl, Marcia, Beth (Brian), Kate, and Chris (Stan); sisters-in-law, Debbie and Laura; his aunts: Sandy (Steve), Marie and Peggy; his good friends, Rich Benson and Nick Gorr; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Ed and Tim Chevrette.

Honoring Lyle’s wishes, no public services will be held.
