JoAnne Roberts, 72, of Ishpeming and longtime Negaunee resident, passed away on November 6, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. She was a 1968 graduate of Negaunee High School and later in life went on to get her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Northern Michigan University.
JoAnne enjoyed being outdoors as much as possible, walking the trails on Lucy Hill and Cedar Lake with family and friends, and many sweet dogs, including her faithful companion, Jake. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing in the beautiful Upper Peninsula. To know Jo was to love her. You were very fortunate if you had Jo in your life.
Surviving are her two sisters, Nancy (Lani) Duquette and Carole Hill; sister-in-law, Camma Roberts; several nieces and nephews: Lance (Jeanne) Duquette, Mark Duquette, Brett (Velma) Hill, Diana (Charlie) Niemi, Eric (Renae) Roberts; as well as great nieces and nephews: Mackenzie, Hunter, Logan, Scott, Al, Rusty, and Ethan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Art Roberts; her brother, Tom Roberts; brother-in-law, Dennis Hill; and very special friend, Cara Zanetti.
A Celebration of Life will take place next summer, and will be announced by Koskey Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jo’s memory to UPAWS.
JoAnne’s family would like to thank the doctors and staff at U.P. Health System Marquette and St. Vincent Hospital Green Bay, as well as caregivers and friends: Michelle, Renae, Kelly, Sheena and Bob.
