Obituary for JAMES MARTIN WATERS
James Martin Waters, 61, of Negaunee, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, September 10, 2022 at UP Health System Marquette, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born January 14, 1961 in Ishpeming to Clifford and Marguerite ‘Midge’ (Johnson) Waters, and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1979. Jim worked numerous jobs of the course of his working career which spanned the United States, including Florida where he worked as a maintenance man, was a landscaper, and held various other odd jobs.
In his spare time, Jim enjoyed being at the family camp on Lake Kawbawgam, having a cold drink, listening to all types of music to which he was very knowledgeable, and fishing. Jim did not like to be held down by the responsibilities of everyday life and enjoyed having a transient lifestyle to which he could move around at his leisure, which fulfilled his free spirit way of life.
Surviving are his son, Neil Waters of California; his sister, Susan Waters of Marquette; niece, Katherine Waters of Ann Arbor; and numerous cousins, friends and acquaintances around the country. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Honoring Jim’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, and will be announced by Koskey Funeral Home
