Obituary for DAVID DEAN MILLER
David Dean Miller, 81, of Ishpeming Township and longtime California resident, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, June 30, 2022 at UP Health System Marquette.
David was born September 1, 1940 in Creston, Iowa to Clifford and Nelly (Marohn) Miller. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy. David worked primarily as a carpenter, running multiple crews with his son, Gregg.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, shuffleboard, bowling, going to swap meets, and spending time with his beloved family. David was a loyal fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Los Angeles Dodgers. He loved being outdoors feeding the squirrels and birds, and watching the clouds.
Surviving are his loving wife, Bonnie L. (Stetson) Miller; his son, Gregory Miller of Hemet, CA; his daughter, Dava (Mark) Sciacca of Centennial, WY; two step-daughters, Kelly (Roger) Comment and Kim Paquette, both of Ishpeming; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don and Scott Miller; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Miller and Melody Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Steven and Bradford Miller; his sister, Joyce Manley; his son-in-law, Ray Paquette; and a granddaughter, Katie Paquette.
Honoring David’s wishes, interment will take place at the VA Cemetery in Iowa with a date and time to scheduled later.
