Obituary for JUDITH KAY PALM

Judith Kay Palm, 85, of Skandia and former Negaunee resident, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, April 29, 2022 with her loving family at her side and under the care of Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice.

Judy was born May 31, 1936 in Ishpeming to Russell and Lois (Currnow) Toms, graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1954 and was a lifelong area resident. She continued her education at Northern Michigan University, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She taught at the Marquette Area Public Schools, and was a longtime 2nd grade teacher at Negaunee Public Schools, retiring in 1988 with over 30 years of service with the district.

Mrs. Palm was a former member of Mitchell United Methodist Church, Negaunee. Judy loved all animals, and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her loving husband of over 65 years, William Palm; two sons, Steve (Bonnie Hoff) Palm of Skandia and James Palm of Marquette; former daughter-in-law, Debra Palm; five grandchildren: Amy Beauchamp, and Michael, Ryan, Mark and Danielle Palm; and two great-grandchildren, Lexington Palm and Knox Kevern Palm. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Richard Palm; and daughter-in-law, Candace Palm.

Honoring Judy’s wishes, no public services will be held. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be directed in Judy’s memory to a charity of your choice.
