Terrie Lynn Frenette, 60, of W. River Rd., Manistique, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, April 28, 2022 at her daughter’s home in Negaunee. She was under the loving care of her family and Lake Superior Hospice.
Terrie was born February 23, 1962 in Newberry to Carl and Shirley (Hansen) Peterson and attended Manistique Area Schools. She relocated to Negaunee where she raised her three daughters and worked in customer service at Econo Foods in Marquette. More recently she moved back to the Manistique Area where she worked at Jack’s Supervalu and then at Ace Hardware in Manistique, having to leave due to her illness.
In her spare time, she loved being outdoors gardening and watching the hummingbirds, four-wheeling, biking, camping, kayaking and walking the property. Most of all, she cherished time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Surviving are her three daughters: Tara (Eddie Karki) Melka of Negaunee, Crystal (Gerald Potvin) Melka of Palmer and Jessica (Juan Croschere) Potvin of Negaunee; her boyfriend of over 12 years, Billy Carney of Manistique; eight grandchildren: Michael Potvin, Brady Roose, Kayla Potvin, Dylan Potvin, Derek Potvin, Aliyah Potvin, James Karki and David Potvin; three brothers: Rodney (Michelle), Robert (Lelia), and Paul Peterson; two sisters, Tammy (‘Sluggo’) Gould and Tina (Bill) Funke; her beloved dog, Coco; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Arthur Hackeman; her husband, Charlie Frenette; and her brother, Billy Peterson.
Honoring Terrie’s wishes, no public services will be held. Condolences or expressions of sympathy may be directed to her daughter’s home at 210 E. Clark St., Negaunee, MI 49866.
