Obituary for SCOTT DAVID LENTEN

Scott David Lenten, 67, of Negaunee, a caring father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, left this world suddenly on April 13, 2022 at his home.

Scott was born April 13, 1955 in Marquette to Nicholas and June (Sleeman) Lenten, the third eldest of the family. He graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1974. After graduation, he honorably served in the United States Navy. Following his service to his country, Scott was employed at the Upper Peninsula Medical Center for over 30 years, recently retiring as the Head of the Maintenance Department.

Scott loved spending time at his favorite place, the family camp on Big Shag Lake. He especially enjoyed the 4th of July, watching the fireworks surrounded by family. Whether sitting by the fire, riding his four-wheeler or going for his nightly sunset boat ride, this was Scott’s Heaven on Earth. If greatness is a sign of a life well-lived, he had an amazing one.

Surviving are his two daughters, Randi (Shane Schultz) Raeck of Oshkosh, WI and Kasey (Tim) Tripp of Chandler, AZ; six beloved grandchildren: Hunter, Macy and Brooklyn, and Olivia, Chloe and Anna; two brothers: Michael Lenten of Negaunee and Kim (Heidi) Lenten of Suomi Location; a sister, Susan Fiink of Oconto, WI; his three beloved pets: Havoc, Karma and Toes; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and countless lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother and best friend, Jay Lenten.

A Celebration of Scott’s Life will be held later this summer at the camp on Big Shag Lake, with the date and time to be announced. Any memorial considerations may be directed in his memory to UPAWS.

He will forever be missed. We love you, Dad - Randi and Kasey.
