Obituary for CHRISTINE VERONICA LUNDIN (Lyons)

Christine "Tina" (Lyons) Lundin, 70, of 1000 Northridge Ln, Ishpeming, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2022 at Marquette County Medical Care Facility under the care of U.P Home Health and Hospice, after years of battling early onset Alzheimer's Disease.

Tina was born in Negaunee on November 20, 1951 to Marie (Sylvester) Lyons and the late John James Lyons, and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1969. On February 12, 1972, she married the great love of her life, Charles A. Lundin of Ishpeming, and they celebrated their 50th Anniversary together just last month. In 1978, they built their lifelong home together and there raised their two daughters, Kirsten (Brian) Honkala and Kellie (Sam) Lundin-Posey.

Tina was a "renaissance" woman who never shied away from a challenge. She balanced being an amazing mother and homemaker with her work as a bookkeeper at Miner's Bank & the Ishpeming Department of Public Works. She enjoyed being active from teaching aerobics classes to hauling wood and plowing snow. She loved adventures walking through the woods, riding her scooter, and traveling in her RV with Chuck. Tina was creative with ceramics, hairstyling, sewing formals and wedding dresses and knitting. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Negaunee and the VFW Women's Auxillary. Of all the things she enjoyed, the one she loved the most was being a grandmother to her six grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father; her brother, Robert Lyons; her sisters-in-law, Lisa Lyons and Joyce Lundin; brothers-in-law, Francis Lundin and Donald Frederickson; her nephew, Donald M. Frederickson; and her in-laws, Francis and Mary Lundin.

Tina is survived by her devoted husband, Charles, who has since passed away; her mother, Marie of Negaunee; brother, Michael (Barb) Lyons of Daggat, MI; a sister, Sue (Dale) Dishaw of Colorado Springs, CO; her sister-in-law, Kaye Frederickson and brother-in-law, Robert (Beth) Lundin; her daughters, Kirsten (Brian) Honkala of McHenry, IL and Kellie (Sam) Lundin-Posey of Sylvania, OH; six grandchildren: Khrystyne (Anthony Howarth) Dewey of Toledo, OH, Heather (Aaron Wright) Dewey of Indianapolis, IN, Avery (Cierra) Dewey of Onsted, MI and Evelyn (Alex Gonzalez) Dewey of Chicago, IL and Lukas and Logan Posey of Sylvania, OH; as well as nieces and nephews: Shannon Lyons, Jenifer Brotherton, JD Lyons, JJ Lyons, Joshua Dishaw, Cheryl Frederickson, David Lundin, Ellen Lundin and Jennifer Davis

The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to all the staff at Marquette County Medical Care Facility, U.P Home Health and Hospice and Bell Medical Center for the care and loving they provided to Tina over the past decade.

A Celebration of Life for Christine and Charles will take place at the Bethany Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, from 11:00 AM until 2:30 PM on Saturday, December 3rd. A prayer service will be held at 2:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall, with Rev. Larry Van Damme officiating. Condolences may be sent to Chuck’s family at 813 Area St., McHenry, IL 60051.
