Obituary for SANDRA FAYE NADEAU

Sandra Faye Nadeau, 77, of Fitch Ave., Marquette, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, March 17, 2022 at UP Health System Marquette with her loving family at her side after a 16-year courageous battle fighting Multiple Myeloma.

Sandra was born August 10, 1944 in Ishpeming, to Arthur and E. Ruth (Knight) Matthews and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1962. She continued her education at Northern Michigan University, earning both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. She worked as a teacher, probation officer, and then supervisor for Child Protective Services for the State of Michigan until her retirement in 2000.

In her spare time, Sandra enjoyed volunteering for the Beautification Committee, outdoor activities, gardening, traveling, cooking, reading, and wintering in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Surviving are her loving husband of over 21 years, Darryl Nadeau; her two sons, Steven (Tanda) Miljour of Bark River and Scott Miljour of Cedar Springs, MI; a step-son, Darryl (LaDonna) Nadeau, Jr., of Baxter Springs, KS; seven step-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren; her sister, Judy Parins of DePere, WI; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Honoring Sandra’s wishes, private graveside services will be held at the Negaunee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Sandra’s memory to Peter White Public Library in Marquette, or the Multiple Myeloma Foundation.
