Obituary for JO ANN UURO (Trewnick)
Jo Ann Uuro, 88, longtime Duncan Ave., Ishpeming resident, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, January 19, 2022 at Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee.
Jo Ann was born September 19, 1933 in Ishpeming to James and Viola (Thibedeau) Trewnick, graduated from Ishpeming High School and was a lifelong area resident. She was a loving and devoted homemaker to her family.
Mrs. Uuro was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ishpeming. In her spare time, she enjoyed taking care of her home and the lawn, and loved taking her dog out for their daily walk.
Surviving are her two sons, Steven Uuro of Kokomo, IN and Matt (Jodi) Uuro of Green Bay; a daughter, Stephanie (Michael) Burton of Kokomo, IN; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; her brother, Allen (Toni) Trewnick of Crystal Falls; sister, Darcy St. John; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Edward T. ‘Ed’ Uuro in 2018; her brother, Jimmy Trewnick, Jr.; and a sister, Barbara Arpiainen.
Honoring Jo Ann and Ed’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held for both them, with the date and time to be announced by Koskey Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Ishpeming Cemetery.
