William George ‘Bill’ Giese, 70, of Sunnyside Estates, Ishpeming Township, passed away peacefully Friday evening, August 27, 2021 at his home under the care of his loving family and UP Home Health & Hospice.

Bill was born December 19, 1950 in Racine, WI to Kenneth ‘George’ and Katherine (Craig) Giese, and moved to area in the mid 1960’s. He worked as a torch cutter, most recently working for A&L Metal, before retiring in 2009.

In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting. Bill liked telling a good joke and spending time with his friends. Bill liked watching westerns and game shows, spending Saturday nights with his grandson, Hunter. He will be greatly missed by his family and his beloved dog, Mandy.

Surviving are his daughter, Elizabeth Kohtala of Ishpeming Twp.; two grandchildren, Hunter and Hailey Kohtala; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Giese; his father, Kenneth Giese; his mother and step-father, Katherine and George Kellan; and four brothers: Robert, Richard, Kenneth and Keith Giese.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, and will be announced by the Koskey Funeral Home.
