Steven Allan Bourdage, 65, of Michigan St, Ishpeming, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, June 10, 2021 at his home under the care of his loving family and UP Home Health & Hospice.

Steve was born November 8, 1955 in Marquette to Francis E. ‘Bozo’ and Gloria J. (Mannila) Bourdage, Sr. and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1974. Following school, he served in the United States Navy from 1975 until his honorable discharge. Following his service to his country, he worked several jobs before beginning his career in maintenance at the Peninsula Medical Center, from where he retired in 2017.

Steve was sports fanatic, both as a fan and participant. He was a longtime player in the Rudy Tamminen fast-pitch softball league, playing for Ed’s Iron Inn. He was active in both the Negaunee Pool League and the Negaunee Cribbage League, also for the Iron Inn. He was an animal lover, who loved the company of pets.

Surviving are his longtime loving companion, Lori (Meyer) Butler; his step-daughter, Amanda Butler; his ‘mom-in-law,’ Dorothy Meyer; four sisters: Linda (George) Cavadeas of Florida, Terrie (Dennis) Luokkala of Negaunee, Debbie (Steve) Beauchamp of New York and Cheryl (Tim) Bertucci of Negaunee; two brothers, Dennis (Janet) and Fran (Tory) Bourdage, Jr. both of Negaunee; nieces and nephews: Kacy, Kalli, Lisa, Eric, Allen, April, Tyler, Derek and Rachel; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Victor Trombetta; and ‘dad-in-law,’ James Meyer.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, June 16th at the Negaunee Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, and will be announced by the Koskey Funeral Home.
