Obituary for JACKIE LYNN SHIER (Lambert)
Jackie Lynn Shier, 66, of Negaunee Township, passed away peacefully at home Sunday evening, May 16, 2021 under the care of her loving family and Lake Superior Hospice.
Jackie was born May 4, 1955 in Midland, MI to Jack and Eleanor (Pomranky) Lambert and graduated from Midland Dow High School, Class of 1974. She continued her education at Emmaus Bible College in Oak Park, Illinois. Jackie and her loving husband, Mike, moved to Negaunee in 1986, and together they raised their four sons. She worked for 20 years as the Negaunee Township Clerk, retiring in 2020.
Mrs. Shier was a devout and active member of Calvary Baptist Church, Negaunee. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting and was a member of several crafting and stamping clubs. She was very family oriented, and devoted as much as she could to her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings and nieces and nephews.
Surviving are her husband, Michael Shier; four sons: Steve Shier of Ashland, WI, Gary Shier of Negaunee, John (Katy) Shier of Colorado Springs and Brian Shier of Negaunee Township; five grandchildren: Mackenzie, Makayla, Hunter, Colton, and Isabella Shier; two sisters, Melodie Sheets and Ann Hollingshead; five brothers: Steve (Paulette) Lambert, Tony (Kelly Martin) Lambert, Neil (Becky) Hollingshead, Phil (Judy) Hollingshead and Doug (Beckie) Hollingshead; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her step-dad, Otis Hollingshead.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 21st at Calvary Baptist Church, Negaunee, with Rev. Randy Reed officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Jackie’s memory to Lake Superior Hospice.
