Obituary for DAVID JOHN DIGHERA

David John Dighera, 76, of Ishpeming, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at his home.

Dave was born June 9, 1944 in at St. Mary’s Hospital in Marquette to Dominic and Mildred (Schmid) Dighera and graduated from Negaunee St. Paul High School, Class of 1963. Upon graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army, having served in Georgia and the Dominican Republic.

Following his service to his country, Dave was employed as a tile setter and belonged to the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union. He loved music and played guitar and sang for the band ‘100 Proof’ at local venues. He also enjoyed adventuring in the outdoors, working puzzles and tinkering and repairing all kinds of things. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his two daughters.

Surviving are his daughter, Shanna Dighera of Champion; his sister, Juleen (Dick) Jaeger of New Berlin, WI; nephews: Tony, Nick and Mike; and a niece, Christine. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Katrina; brother, Allen Dighera; and sister-in-law, Nancy LaPlante.

Honoring Dave’s wishes, private graveside services will take place at the Negaunee Cemetery.
