Obituary for DANIEL ROBERT MAKINEN
Daniel Robert Makinen, 39, of Makinen Rd., Negaunee Township, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at his home.
Daniel was born April 24, 1981 in Negaunee to Jeri Lynn (Woodbridge) Makinen, attended Negaunee schools and was a lifelong area resident. Following school, he worked numerous jobs locally.
Dan had a wonderful sense of humor and a heart of gold. He was always willing to help anybody that needed it. In his spare time, he enjoyed music, loved dogs, and enjoyed being outdoors.
Surviving are his brother, David (Devin) Makinen of Negaunee Township; three sisters: Janet Makinen of Ishpeming, Amy (Terry) Makinen-Lehtinen of Negaunee Township and Michelle (James Annala) Makinen of Ishpeming; four nephews: Andrew and Daniel Juchemich, Dawsen Makinen and Kevin Mann; three nieces: Jessica Mills, MaKenna Makinen and Olivia Jurmu who he affectionately called ‘OV’; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and a sister, Jeri Makinen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Janet Makinen's home at 1075 School St., Ishpeming, starting at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 24th.
