Obituary for JULIA FAY TOUSIGNANT
Julia Fay Tousignant, 61, of Negaunee, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 31, 2021 at UP Health System in Marquette.
Julia was born June 15, 1959 in Marquette to Donald and Susan (McMaster) Fletcher, grew up in Skandia and graduated from Gwinn High School, Class of 1977. She married Dennis Tousignant on May 28, 1977 and together they raised their three sons in Negaunee.
Julia was a devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother; she loved and cared for family, friends and strangers alike. She had a great compassion for animals, especially her beloved little dogs. Julia also enjoyed attending services at North Iron Church in Ishpeming, was an avid gardener, and in her younger years loved raising and riding horses on the family farm in Skandia.
Surviving are her loving husband, Dennis; three sons: Dennis ‘DJ’ (Carie Blemke) Tousignant of Ishpeming; Adam and Mark (Malea Mandoki) Tousignant, both of Negaunee; seven grandchildren: Jordan, Dennis, Ann Marie, Matthew, Julia, Adalynn, Haley and Madison; great-grandson, Christian James Tousignant, Jr.; her sisters: Karen (Richard Tolman) Bailey and Karla (Bob) Duvall, both of Wyoming; her brother, Paul (Irma) Fletcher of California; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Christian James Tousignant in December, 2018; and her brother, Donald ‘Brownie’ Fletcher.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
