Obituary for BARBARA JEAN LEAF (Bancroft)
Barbara Jean Leaf, 89, of Negaunee, passed away late Friday evening, December 18, 2020 at UP Health System – Bell.
Barbara was born June 28, 1931 in Ishpeming to Richard and Lillian (Webb) Bancroft and graduated from Ishpeming High School, Class of 1950. She married the late Donald J. Leaf in 1953 and together they raised their family in Negaunee.
In her younger years, Barbara worked at Johnson’s Drugs in Ishpeming, Bannon Cleaners in Negaunee and as a seamstress at the H.W. Gossard Co. Mrs. Leaf was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Negaunee. She was a dedicated homemaker and loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are her son, Donald (Lorna) Leaf of Negaunee; daughter, Cindy Kulie Williams of Negaunee; three grandchildren: Andrew (Jamie) Kulie, Samuel (Paula) Leaf and Aubrey (Steve) McCarthy; five great-grandchildren: Scott and David Kulie; Julianna Leaf, and Kenzie and Reid McCarthy; brother-in-law, Leonard Parker; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald in 1994; her son, David Leaf in 2002; and her sister, Dorothy Parker.
Honoring Barbara’s wishes, no public services will be held. Any memorial considerations may be directed to St. Vincent DePaul in her memory.
