Obituary for JUDITH CAROLINE CHIRI (Hartwig)
Judith Caroline Chiri, 79, longtime Negaunee resident, passed away peacefully Monday evening, September 21, 2020 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility.
Judith was born November 8, 1940 in Marinette, WI, to Lawrence and Genevieve (Schounard) Hartwig and graduated from Marinette High School. She went on to receive her cosmetology degree in Milwaukee.
She was married to Jack L. Schroeder and resided in Loomis, WI, where she raised her family and was the owner and operator of several hair salons in Loomis, Crivitz and Coleman, WI. She later moved to Marquette and opened Peddlers Hill Antique Shop on Erickson St. at Hwy. 41 and also worked as a hairdresser at Brookridge Heights Assisted Living until her retirement. Judy later married Louis W. Chiri of Negaunee, where she resided until entering the Marquette County Medical Care Facility.
Surviving are her daughter, Lisa (Steve) Boettcher of Marquette; three sons: Jack (Pamela) Schroeder of Crivitz, WI, Hank (Julie) Schroeder of Green Bay and Chad (Lisa) Schroeder of Crivitz; her first husband, Jack L. Schroeder of Crivitz; 10 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis W. Chiri in 2012; a sister, Barbara MacArthur; and her brother, Robert Hartwig.
Honoring Judith’s wishes, no public services will be held.
