Obituary for COLLEEN KAY SCHULTZ

Colleen Kay Schultz, 71, of North Basin Dr., Negaunee Township, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, September 5, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN, with her loving family at her side.

Colleen was born March 17, 1949 in Ishpeming to Rudolph and Evelyn (Anderson) Peterson, graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1967 and was a lifelong area resident. She married the late Edward Schultz on January 20, 1968. Mrs. Schultz was a loving and devoted homemaker to her family. She also worked as a waitress, and most recently worked at Elaine’s Party Store in Ishpeming. Colleen was also known as a local saleswoman for Mary Kay Cosmetics.

In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, bowling, singing and listening to music. Most of all she enjoyed following her children and grandchildren with their school functions and sporting events. Colleen was an affectionate and loving person, who gave hugs to everyone she knew, and even to those she didn’t know.

Surviving are her two sons, Scott Schultz of Ishpeming and Jason Schultz of Aurora, WI; her daughter, Shelly (Brad) Johnson of Negaunee; six grandchildren: Jeremy, Brittney and Brooke Schultz, Charissa and Dylan Johnson and Teagan Schultz; a great-granddaughter, Raylynn Paquette; two brothers, Dale (Jane) and Lowell (Trudy) Peterson; two sisters, Sherrill Garczynski and Melody (Joel) Petersen; a special friend, Faye St. Andre; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eddie in 2009; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Garczynski.

Colleen’s family will greet relatives and friends at Koskey Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 3:00pm on Sunday, September 13th. In accordance with COVID-19 restrictions, a private family memorial service will follow, with Rev. Leo Arnestad officiating. Those paying their respects are asked to wear a mask and follow in social distancing protocols.
