Colleen Kay Schultz, 71, of North Basin Dr., Negaunee Township, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, September 5, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN, with her loving family at her side.

Colleen was born March 17, 1949 in Ishpeming to Rudolph and Evelyn (Anderson) Peterson, graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1967 and was a lifelong area resident. She married the late Edward Schultz on January 20, 1968. Mrs. Schultz was a loving and devoted homemaker to her family. She also worked as a waitress, and most recently worked at Elaine’s Party Store in Ishpeming. Colleen was also known as a local saleswoman for Mary Kay Cosmetics.

In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, bowling, singing and listening to music. Most of all she enjoyed following her children and grandchildren with their school functions and sporting events. Colleen was an affectionate and loving person, who gave hugs to everyone she knew, and even to those she didn’t know.

Surviving are her two sons, Scott Schultz of Ishpeming and Jason Schultz of Aurora, WI; her daughter, Shelly (Brad) Johnson of Negaunee; six grandchildren: Jeremy, Brittney and Brooke Schultz, Charissa and Dylan Johnson and Teagan Schultz; a great-granddaughter, Raylynn Paquette; two brothers, Dale (Jane) and Lowell (Trudy) Peterson; two sisters, Sherrill Garczynski and Melody (Joel) Petersen; a special friend, Faye St. Andre; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eddie in 2009; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Garczynski.

Colleen was a sweet person to me and a beloved dear friend to my late mother Dorothy and were a part of the Home Leage women's group at the Ishpeming Salvation Army years ago. Always brought a smile and a laugh my way. We will surely miss you. Peace and healing to the family.

Coleen will be dearly missed by our family. We had alot of fond memories with her. We used to watch american idol, then go in the basement to talk about who may win when she lived above us on michigan st in ishpeming. Mornings we would meet for coffee & drink the whole pot. She loved playing with our grandchildren & like always had hugs for everyone. She was the best neighbor you could ask for. She always talked about & praised her family. She was just genuinely a kind & caring person that will be dearly missed. We feel fortunate for have knowing her. Skip & Marci Lyons...... RIP dear friend. Thank you for the memories & the kind ear & heart....
