Obituary for RITA MAE PETERSON
Rita Mae Peterson (née Chapman) died on August 16, 2020 with family by her side. She was 87. Born in Ishpeming, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Mae and James Chapman.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Don; her daughters, Kim White and Kris Swenor (Mark); two sisters, Fay Garceau (Neil) and Carol Garceau; three grandchildren: Chris Swenor (Marta), Natalie (Brian), and Steven; two great-granddaughters, Elliott and Coral; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A lifetime Upper Peninsula resident, Rita loved to spend time with family, cook and bake, go on walks, work in her yard, sew, play cards, and listen to music.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
