Obituary for PAUL EMERY CURTIS Jr.

Paul Emery Curtis, Jr., 86, of Grawn, passed away peacefully Friday evening, August 7, 2020 at his home in the loving care of his family.

Paul was born May 26, 1935 in Benton Harbor to Paul and Frances (Gilson) Curtis, Sr. and graduated from Benton Harbor High, Class of 1952.

Paul started as a foundry employee and then went on to the railroad and several other jobs until he purchased the bowling lanes in Lakeview. In 1977, he moved to the U.P. and remained there until joining his son in Grawn in 2018. Mr. Curtis was a member of The Eagles in Grawn.

In his spare time, Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing and enjoyed sharing his many tales of them. He was also a bowler and once owned the bowling lanes in Lakeview, MI. He learned to make wines and brew his own beer.

Surviving are his loving wife, Sybil (Radke) Curtis; his son, Jeffrey A. (Debra R.) Curtis of Grawn; his daughter, Diana L. (Terrill) Miller of Florence, SC; four grandchildren: W.T. Miller and Jason, Jenelle and Jarred Curtis; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Honoring Paul’s wishes, no public services will be held.
