Geraldine Marie White, 98, longtime Gwinn and former Marquette resident, passed away peacefully in the care of her loving family Thursday afternoon, June 18, 2020 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility.

Geraldine was born April 12, 1922 in Escanaba to Joseph and Blanche (Fournier) Boudreau and graduated from Gwinn High School, Class of 1941. She was employed for several years as a sales clerk at Ace Hardware in Marquette and later owned and operated White’s Party Store in Marquette with her husband, Paul. In her later years, Geraldine worked for Gwinn Schools in the superintendent’s office for ten years.

Surviving are her husband, Paul White of Marquette; three sons: William and Roy Meni, Sr., both of Gwinn, and Jim White of Thorton, CO; seven grandchildren: Betty Pellegrini, William P. Meni, Barbara Headrick, Heather Coleman, Roy Meni, Jr., and Cody and Nicole White; several great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Betty Warren and sister-in-law, Kay Boudreau.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Gildo Meni, in 1956; three brothers: Herbert, Gordon and Lloyd; and her sister, Rita.

Honoring Geraldine’s wishes, private family services will be held. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery.
