Jon Stuart Bianchi, 58, of AuTrain Township, passed away Sunday evening, December 1, 2019 at his home.

Jon was born June 23, 1961 in Ishpeming to John and ‘Sissie’ (Valente) Bianchi and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of ’79. Following High School, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Michigan University. He was employed as a Corrections Officer at Alger Maximum Security Prison.

In his spare time, he loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Jon was very generous with his time and skills, helping friends and neighbors with odd jobs and projects.

Surviving are his mother, ‘Sissie’ (‘Duke’ Jacobetti) Bianchi; a sister, Julie (Paul) Heinonen; niece, Abbey Heinonen; nephew, Drew Heinonen; three aunts: Kay Bianchi, Carol Pezzotti and Connee Valente; and numerous cousins and countless friends, including lifelong friend, Al Baldasari and his family. He was preceded in death by his father, John Bianchi.

Honoring Jon’s wishes, no public services will be held. Interment will be in the Gwinn Cemetery. To honor Jon’s generosity to others in need, the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to a charity of your choice.
