Obituary for MICHAEL ALBERT JARVI
Michael Albert Jarvi, 58, of Vine St., Ishpeming, passed away Tuesday morning, September 24, 2019 at his home.
Michael was born September 21, 1961 in Detroit to Norman and Vera (Dollar) Jarvi, and grew up in the Michigamme area. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, Class of 1979 and also earned certification from the Mechanics Automotive program at Northern Michigan University. He worked as a certified mechanic for many years primarily at Penzoil Quick Lube in Ishpeming.
Mike was a dedicated worker and enjoyed that he could help provide for his family. He was a gifted artist, specializing in lead drawings. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting antiques, especially stamps and concert tickets. Mike could often be found in his favorite chair jamming to his favorite rock music.
Surviving are his children: Nichole Jarvi, Christopher Still and Amber Jarvi all of Ishpeming; 7 grandchildren: Harmony, Mariah and Dylan Helsten, Emma and Aurora Jarvi, and Brendan Michael and Alina Tebby; and a sister, Cory. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Michelle, Barb and Patrick
Honoring Michael’s wishes, a private celebration will be held at a later date.
