Obituary for PATRICIA IRENE SAGER

Patricia Irene Sager, 92, of Shag Lake, Gwinn and former Negaunee resident, passed away late Thursday evening, August 22, 2019 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility.

Pat was born February 27, 1927 in Schoolcraft Township to John and Hilja (Hirvela) Kus and graduated from Lake Linden High School. She was united in marriage to the late Kenneth Sager and they moved to Negaunee where they raised their family.

Aside from being a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, Pat was employed at Symon’s TruValue Hardware in Negaunee. She was a former member of Mitchell United Methodist Church and belonged to the Gwinn VFW Auxiliary and the Merry Mixers. Pat was an avid bowler and enjoyed wintering in Apache Junction, Arizona. Most importantly, she loved her family and enjoyed time spent with everyone at the camp on Big Shag Lake.

Surviving are her two sons: Ronald (Kathy) Sager of Flushing and Leland (Judy) Sager of Gwinn; two daughters: Lynne (Tom) Forre of Lakewood, CO and Peggy Sager of Panama City, FL; her sister, Carol (George) Pini of Apache Junction; five grandchildren: Brandon (Kelly), Barrie (Victoria) and Ben (Patience) Sager; and Jason (Kami) Sager and Bethany (Ray) Barber; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Kenneth Sager in 2001; and three brothers: John, Irving and Homer Kus.

Honoring Pat’s wishes, no public services will be held. The family kindly asks that any memorial considerations be directed to the Forsyth Township Fire Department and EMS.
