Obituary for GERALDINE ANNETTE "Gerrie" ERICKSON (Bianchi)
Geraldine Annette ‘Gerrie’ Erickson, 83, of N. River Dr., Gwinn, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday morning, May 1, 2019 in the care of her loving husband and Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice.
Gerrie was born July 27, 1935 in Princeton to Alexander and Irene (Ippolite) Bianchi, graduated from Gwinn High School, Class of 1953, and was a lifelong Gwinn resident. She was united in marriage to Paul Erickson on December 12, 1953 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Gerrie was a loving and devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Mrs. Erickson was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Gwinn. She was an avid bowler, a wonderful cook and enjoyed cheering on her husband’s softball teams.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Paul Erickson; three sons: David (Frances) Erickson and Dale (Carol) Erickson, both of Gwinn, and Steve (Katie) Erickson of Tempe, AZ; eight grandchildren: Amanda (Jesse) Lucas, Lauren (Matt) Whittler, Jaime, Chris (Lacey), Joe, Rena, Andrea and Michael Erickson; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, May 7th at Koskey Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Tooman officiating. Interment will be in the Gwinn Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00 pm until the time of services at 3:00 pm at the funeral home on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Mrs. Erickson’s memory to the American Cancer Society or the Forsyth Township Senior Center.
