Obituary for TAIMI HELEN LARSON (Lahti)

Taimi Helen Larson, 99, formerly of Suomi Location, passed away Tuesday morning, April 16, 2019 at the Eastwood Nursing Center.

Taimi was born April 10, 1920 in Negaunee to Nels and Mary Lahti and graduated from Palmer High School. She married the late Edwin Larson and together they raised four children in Suomi Location. Taimi was a loving and devoted homemaker. After raising her family, she also worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Palmer Nursing Home.

Mrs. Larson was a member of Community Lutheran Church in Suomi. She enjoyed spending her time helping her children raise their families, being at the family camp on Pike Lake and doing needlepoint.

Surviving are her three sons: Michael (Pat) Larson of Fond du Lac, WI; Steve Larson of Gwinn and Dave Larson of Marquette; 11 grandchildren: Denise, Lynette, Bobby, Jamie, Deirdre ‘DD’, Michael Jr., Trina, Leah, Kristin, Douglas and Dave II; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edwin in 1982; and her daughter Karen Becotte.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 23rd at Community Lutheran Church in Suomi with Rev. Douglas Norquist officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of services at 2:00 pm, and also at a luncheon in the church hall following services. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Community Lutheran Church in Mrs. Larson’s memory.
