Obituary for JERRY KENNETH WILLIAMS

Jerry Kenneth Williams, 76, of Cambria Rd., Negaunee, passed away Monday night, January 14, 2019 at UP Health System Marquette, with his loving family at his side.

Jerry was born July 4, 1942 in Ishpeming to John H. and Hazel M. (Skewis) Williams, graduated from Ishpeming High School, Class of 1960 and was a lifelong area resident. He worked as a miner for CCI at both the Republic and Empire Mines, retiring in 1997 with over 32 years of service with Cliff’s.

Jerry had a love for the outdoors, particularly deer hunting and being at camp with his family and friends. He never missed a deer season and passed his knowledge down to his son’s. He loved going to his camp with his dog Lacey, where they spent many hours together. In his younger days, he was also an avid waterfowl hunter and brook trout fisherman.

Jerry worked hard to provide a good life for his family and was very handy and resourceful, again passing those skills down. More than anything, he loved his family, and could always be found following his children’s and grandchildren’s extracurricular activities. Jerry was also a helpful and courteous neighbor in the Cambria Location, helping out with snow removal up and down the road with his Kubota tractor and snowblower.

Surviving are his loving wife, Judy (LaMere) Williams; 2 sons, Kenneth and Rick (Rhonda) Williams; a daughter, Lori (Gregg) Conradson; 5 grandchildren: Steven Williams, Michael (Chelsea) Williams, Jess Taisto, Jamie (Brandon) Cory and Shayla Williams; 4 great-grandchildren: Mason Maijala, Aiden and Connor Taisto and Amelia Williams; a sister, Marilyn (Don) Seagle; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved canine companions, Lacey and Princess. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Melissa Conradson; and a brother, Jack Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 18th at Koskey Funeral Home, Negaunee with Rev. Larry Van Damme officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 am until the time of services at 12:00 pm at the funeral home on Friday, and also at luncheon immediately following services at the Negaunee Township Hall.
