Condolence From: Ella Stulz
Condolence: When Joyce moved to Lost Creek all our lives were enriched. She was always patient, kind and generous. Joyce was easy to talk to and a good listener. She gave us slippers and cookies along with tales of her life and her family. Joyce missed her home and friends in California but soon settled in with her loving family in the Marquette area. Joyce loved her family. She often mailed cookies back to her friends in California, she made friends with the post office worker at the post office and was soon taking her cookies when she was mailing packages. We were sad when she moved away. Some days Joyce would call and tell either Kathy or me she was coming back for a visit. We would notify all of the other residents she visited with in the evenings at the puzzle table, have the coffee ready at one of the lobby tables waiting for her and her assortment of cookies. I cherish those visits. Joyce is one of the residents we often talked about and wished had never moved from Lost Creek. May Joyce rest in peace.

Condolence From: Tanya Stanaway
Condolence: Joyce was like a mother to me. I remember the time when Denny and I were in Redando Beach, she took my hand when we were crossing a busy street. She said: "These California drivers are so fast". Denny and I stopped at her home often and sometimes even couple times a week. She sure has a lot of stories. She also was my Spanish language teacher and every time when she called she greeted my in Spanish. Rest in peace Aunty.
