Obituary for JOLINE SUE FLACK (Hastings)

Joline S. (Hastings) Flack, 51, Tilden Township resident, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility with her loving family by her side, following a two-month struggle with a brain aneurysm.

Joline was born July 6, 1967 in Ishpeming to James T. and Pauline F. (Peterson) Hastings, graduated with honors from Westwood High School, Class of 1985. She worked several years as a CNA at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility as well as Manor Care in Kingsford.

In her spare time, she enjoyed being outdoors, camping and Harley riding. She was a wonderful cook and loved to make pasties and pies for her family and friends. She also loved spending time at the family summer home on Stella Lake in St. Germain, WI.

Surviving are her parents; a daughter, Carly (Jason) Gravedoni; granddaughter, Erista; two sisters, Jeanne Hastings and Heidi (Dean Manty) Hastings both of Ishpeming; a brother, Jeff Hastings of Diorite; significant other, Eric ‘Weegie’ Helsten of Tilden Twp.; special aunt, Debbie (Dave) Reed of AuTrain; aunt, Sherry Davis of Ishpeming; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved cat, Missy.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmer Hastings; uncles, Art and John Davis; an aunt, Nancy Marietti; and brother-in-law, Bill Sharon.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, November 30th at the American Legion, Post #114, Greenwood Location, with Rev. Lauri Maki officiating. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow services including a pot luck style dinner.

Joline’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff of the 200 Wing at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility as well as the staff of UP Home Health and Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.

God put His arms around you and lifted you to rest, God’s garden must be beautiful, he only takes the best. Goodbye, our girl. Love, Mom and Dad.
