Condolence: From the family of Donald B Jones...Praying the memories of better times carries you through this difficult time. Our dad loved time spent with Don both in regards to their shared occupation of education as well as their social time. I'll always remember our dad telling the story of their thermos shattering on the golf course. They strained the beverage contained within through a hankie and drank it anyway. I can hear them laughing about it to this day. Praying for your family's peace.

Condolence: Don worked with my father for several years, and was our Principal at Flint Northern. He led an exemplary big-city school where there was a positive blend of cultural diversity and acceptance for each other. This was especially rare in the early 1970’s. The environment of respect and accountability that he established enabled his students to excel in academics, athletics and the arts, and also have the right amount of fun. Along with the Principal, we also got the see the husband and dad in him when our families vacationed together one year in Callaway Gardens, GA. He even showed up at my MSU dorm room one football Saturday just to check on me and make sure things were going well. Don not only served his country, he also served his community, right down to one lonely college freshman away from home for the first time. He made a genuine difference in many, many lives, and is missed. Our condolences to Ruth and the rest of the family.
