Obituary for JUDITH ANN SCOTT

JUDITH ANN SCOTT
Judith Ann Scott, age 77, of 416 Deer Lake Road, Ishpeming Township, entered eternal life on Saturday, July 14, 2018.

Judy was born December 23, 1940 in Ishpeming to the late James and Antoinette (Storti) Armatti and graduated from Ishpeming High School, Class of 1958. Following graduation, she attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for two years. While attending school, Judy met and then married the late Edward Scott, the “love of her life,” and they spent 47 happy years together.

Judy spent several years working at Bell Memorial Hospital in the radiology department. In 1972, she and Ed adopted their daughter, Tonya, and Judy became a stay at home mom.

Mrs. Scott was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ishpeming. She volunteered at several places including the hospital coffee cart and enjoyed belonging to a bridge club and a local service sorority.

In later years, Judy loved spending time socializing and traveling. She especially looked forward to gatherings with her three best friends, otherwise known as “The LaLa sisters.” Judy spent most winters on Marco Island Florida and loved to go dancing while there. Her absolute favorite past time was spending time with her four grandchildren. She was lovingly known by them as Nana and they brought an endless amount of happiness to her.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Tonya Anne (James) Scott-Ross, grandchildren: Reilly, Shayla, and Ashlyn Coombs and Conrad Ross; sister Rosemary Harrington of Ishpeming; aunt, Edith Armatti; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Edward Scott, on August 31, 2007.

Honoring Judy’s wishes, private family services will be held.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Lake Superior Hospice and Dr. Sheetal Acharya for their wonderful care and support. And an extra special thanks to Kerri Willey, Joyce Rene Ogea, and Joyce Hintsala for their never ending love and friendship.

Memorial contributions may be directed in Judy’s memory to the Melanoma Research Foundation, P.O. Box 759329, Baltimore, MD 21275-9329.
