Kenneth Robert Young, 77, of Queen Road, Negaunee, passed away at home on Thursday, November 2, 2017.
Kenneth was born March 17, 1940 in Negaunee to Robert G. and Sylvia T. (Johnson) Young, graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1959 and was a lifelong area resident. He worked as a Police Officer for the City of Negaunee prior to his 25 year career as a maintenance mechanic for Cleveland Cliffs.
Mr. Young enjoyed spending winters in Arizona, four wheeling, and playing cards with family and friends. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Nascar fan, cheering for #2 Rusty Wallace or any other Ford car!
Surviving are his 2 sons, Kurt (Natalie) and Doug (Kari) Young, both of Negaunee; daughter, Jonelle (Jack) Specker of Negaunee; 4 grandchildren: Chris (Tara Klaker) Young, Katrina (Paul) Gangl, and Jason (Katie Currie) and Nicole (Ian Hutchens) Young; 2 great-grandchildren, Khloe Gangl and Quinn Hutchens; brother, William Young; and a sister, Janet Tilly. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Grossman and also the staff at the Marquette Co. Medical Care Facility for their wonderful care provided.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 7th at Koskey Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Reed officiating. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 am until the time of services at noon at the funeral home on Tuesday.
