Herbert Glenn Nelson, 85, of Negaunee, passed away Saturday evening, October 28, 2017 at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans.

Herbert was born December 19, 1931 in Negaunee to Herbert Edward and Myrtle (Mullen) Nelson and attended Negaunee High School. He then enlisted in the United States Marines and served for three years.

Following his service to his country, Mr. Nelson was employed by Cleveland Cliffs, retiring from the Tilden Mine with over 40 years of service.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Joan (Cadotte) Nelson; two sons: Glenn (Tessie) Nelson of San Diego, CA and Timothy Nelson of Mason, MI; and his granddaughter, Tracy (Mark) Bueno. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Honoring Herbert’s wishes, no public services will be held. Interment will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery.
