Obituary for WILLIAM A. FOSSMO

William Allen ‘Billy’ Fossmo, 61, longtime Palmer resident, passed away peacefully Friday morning, September 22, 2017 at the Cornerstone Adult Foster Care Facility in Bloomingdale, MI.
Billy was born November 1, 1955 in Racine, WI to William B. and Ann K. (Kellan) Fossmo and attended the Negaunee Public Schools special education program. He worked as a laborer at the work centers in Brimley and Negaunee Township for over 30 years.
Mr. Fossmo was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Negaunee. In his spare time he enjoyed working puzzles and watching T.V., especially westerns.
Surviving are his sisters: Cheryl Kerkela of Palmer, Susan Judkins of Palmer, Ellen (Ken) Wallingsford of O’Fallon, MO and Patti (Michael) Joyal of Palmer; nieces and nephews: William and Amanda (Constantine) Judkins, Christopher (Amanda) Richter, Alisha (Brantz) Heisler, Emma Wallingsford and Rachel Joyal; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and nephews, Alexander & Austin Joyal.
Honoring William’s wishes, graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be directed to William’s family, PO Box 62, Palmer, MI 49871.
William’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the various facilities that have helped to take care of him over the years, including Marigold Manor in Palmer, UP Health System-Marquette, 6th Floor, Cedar Hills in Ishpeming and Cornerstone in Bloomingdale, MI.
