JUDITH ARLINE TRUDELL (Champion)
Judith Arline ‘Judy Belle’ Trudell, 72, of Lake St., Negaunee, passed away peacefully in the care of her loving family and UP Home Health and Hospice on Monday evening, March 27, 2017 at the Eastwood Nursing Center.

Judy was born June 14, 1944 in Ishpeming to Carl E. and Dorothy E. (Roberts) Champion and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1962. She married Donald Trudell of Ishpeming on May 1, 1965 and they made their home in Negaunee with their two children.

Mrs. Trudell was a member of Mitchell United Methodist Church. In her free time she enjoyed attending her children’s sporting activities and spent many days at the ball diamond. She also loved watching her husband play ball with the Junction Jets of Ishpeming and most recently with the Negaunee Old-Timers. Judy enjoyed playing Scrabble, scrapbooking, playing cards, baking, enjoying her Coca-Cola, packing a picnic lunch and taking a ride to look for deer, and was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers. Most of all, she looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the apple of her eye.

Surviving are her loving husband of 52 years, Don Trudell; daughter, Diane (John) Neuman of Champion; son, Don Trudell, Jr. of Ishpeming; granddaughter, Jessica (Erick) Holm of Ishpeming; 2 great-grandchildren, Zackari Robinson and Alaynna Irvine Robinson; step- granddaughter, Amanda Neuman; step great-grandchildren: Ethan, Gavin and Andrew Nelson, Liam, Noah and Oliver Larkins and Summer Holm; brothers: Gary (Elizabeth) and Edwin (Jill) Champion of Negaunee; sister, Sharon (Richard) Romback of Negaunee; sisters-in-law: LaVerne ‘Dolly’ Ellersick of Milwaukee and Elaine Peterson of Ishpeming; special friends: Lenore Wetton and Barbara Cohan; special cousin, Jill Jenner; her lone surviving aunt, Alyce (Roberts) Lodholtz; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Dorothy E. Champion.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, March 31st at Mitchell United Methodist Church with Rev. J. Albert Barchue officiating. Interment will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30 am until the time of services at 11:30 am at the church on Friday, and also at a luncheon in the church hall. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews: Richard, Randy, Ricky and Adrian Trudell, Michael, Edwin and Gary Champion, Jr., and Michael Romback.
