Ruth Emma Louise Numikoski, 95, of Clark St., Negaunee, entered eternal life Saturday evening, February 13, 2016 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in the care of UP Home Health and Hospice.
Ruth was born April 17, 1920 in Phelps, Wisconsin to Gustav and Matilda (Johnson) Bengtson and grew up in Hermansville where she attended school. She moved to Negaunee in the late 1930’s where she lived for the remainder of her life.
Mrs. Numikoski was a member of the Marquette Church of Christ. She was strong in faith, enjoyed in-home bible study groups and was a faithful servant of her Lord. Ruth also loved traveling to be with her family and caring for her grandchildren.
Surviving are her son, Dale (Dawn) Numikoski of Ishpeming; 2 daughters: Sharon (Dennis) Krulac of Ballground, GA and Kay (Mike) Lutz of Wautoma, WI; 9 grandchildren: Dana (Tim) Hares, Debbie (Jason) Nurmi, Traci (Jeff) Kerneklian, Keri (Brian) Jager, Dennis (Sonata) Krulac, Dean (Melissa) Krulac, Kelli Price, Douglas Rupert and Anthony Lutz; 15 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Hia Bengtson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frank Arvid Numikoski in 1989; 3 brothers: Ernest, Chet and Gus Bengtson; and 2 sisters: Ann Salo and Esther Laitinen.
Ruth’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staffs of the Marquette County Medical Care Facility and UP Home Health and Hospice for their wonderful and loving care provided.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, February 19th at the Koskey Funeral Home in Negaunee with Jim Larson officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday, and also at a reception in the Bethany Lutheran Church hall immediately following services. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery.
