Gloria I. Fahrenkrug, 75, of Chocolay Township, passed away at home early Monday morning, December 14, 2015.
Gloria was born June 2, 1940 in Spooner, WI to Gilbert and Veleeta (Lauterbach) Bardtrief and graduated from Sparta High School in Wisconsin. She married David FahrenKrug, Sr. and they moved to Washington where Gloria earned her Electrical Technician degree. She and her husband both worked for The Boeing Company. Gloria was employed with the company for over 30 years, often working on the B-52 Bomber. She and her husband moved back to Wisconsin in 1970, and following his passing in 1989 she moved to the Marquette area.
Gloria was a member of American Legion Post #44, Marquette. Her hobbies included reading, shopping from home, and studying and learning about her family’s geneology.
Surviving are three daughters: Annette (Don Jenkins, Jr.) Cox of Negaunee, Debora Fahrenkrug of Chocolay Township and Diane Fahrenkrug of Tallahassee, FL; one son, David Fahrenkrug, Jr. of Chocolay Township; six grandchildren: Michelle (James Mitchell) Cox, Daniel Fahrenkrug, Anthony and Amanda Fahrenkrug, and Kayla (Michael) Lietzau and Jacob Fahrenkrug; three great-grandchildren: Zaira Cox and Madelyn and Ashton Estes. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband David Fahrenkrug, Sr. in 1989; a daughter, Sharon Fahrenkrug in 1974; and a sister, Louise.
A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Friday, December 18th at the Negaunee Eagles Club, 311 Iron St. There will also be a pot luck style luncheon to follow.
