Ella Lee Filibeck, 78, of Case St., Negaunee, passed away peacefully at home Sunday evening, November 23, 2014 surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Lake Superior Hospice.
Ella Lee was born September 20, 1936 in Nadeau to Arthur and Bertha (Peterson) Jean, the youngest of their 5 children, and was a graduate of Stephenson High School. She married the love of her life, Warren Filibeck on May 28, 1954. Ella operated a daycare out of her home for many years.
Mrs. Filibeck was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Negaunee. In her free time she enjoyed walking, gardening, and especially time spent at the family farm in Carney.
Surviving are 2 daughters: Janice Smith and Karen (Jeff) Aspenson; son, Nick (Allecia) Filibeck; 3 grandsons; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Jean; and her favorite canine companion, Benson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren on June 20, 2009; sisters: Phyllis and Beatrice; and her brother, Walton.
Honoring Ella’s wishes a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Lake Superior Hospice, 914 W. Baraga Ave., Marquette, in Ella’s memory. The family would like to thank Lake Superior Hospice for their excellent care of Ella, especially Nichol.
