Ethel A. Ovink, 85, formerly of 98 Croix St., Negaunee, died at 1:10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Marquette General Hospital.

Ethel was born July 14, 1926 in Farmington, MI to William and Marie (Geistler) White, graduated from Farmington High School, and was a homemaker. She lived in Houghton Lake, MI until moving to Negaunee in 2004. Ethel enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting and cooking.

Surviving are 2 sons: John (Shelley) Ovink of Ishpeming and Dennis Ovink of Negaunee; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Gerald (Margaret) White of Hartland, MI; 3 sisters: Geraldine Moore of South Bend, IN, Ruth Tobel of Farmington Hills, MI and Cathy of Maple City, MI; numerous nieces and nephews. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry in 2002; her son, Douglas in 1977, 3 sisters and 5 brothers.

Honoring Mrs. Ovink’s wishes, no public services will be held.
