Rita Opezzo, 97, formerly of Bay De Noc St., Negaunee, and also a former Florida resident, died at 6:20 pm on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Eastwood Nursing Center where she had resided since April, 2005.

Rita was born March 1, 1915 in Gilpin Twp, PA to Gasper and Secondina (Bertalino) Dolza. She was a home maker and also worked in the family business, retiring in 1969. She lived in Naples, Florida and Mount Clemens, MI from 1969 until moving to Negaunee in 1998.

Surviving are her son, Raymond L. Opezzo of Howell, MI; 5 grandchildren: Michael, Frank and William Talo, and Paul and Mark Opezzo; 1 great grandchild, Michael Talo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Opezzo was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank M. Opezzo on August 26, 1967, her daughter Anita Talo on October 3, 2010, and 3 brothers: Raymond, Charles and Michael Dolza.

Honoring Rita’s wishes, no public services will be held.
