Marquette

Vicki A. Quayle, 58, of 2652 Montgomery St., Marquette, died at 11:42 AM on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Marquette General Hospital after suffering a stroke and heart attack.

Vicki was born January 12, 1955 in Price, Utah to Howard “Jerry” and Judith (Jarvela) Nease. She grew up in Negaunee, was a graduate of Negaunee High School, Class of 1973, and was a lifelong area resident. She was employed by Marquette General Hospital as the supervisor of logistics.

Mrs. Quayle was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Negaunee. She was a devoted wife, mother (“hockey mom”), daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She loved to spend time at the family camp on Helen Lake and cooking for the family, especially during the holidays.

Surviving are her husband Doug Quayle, whom she married in October of 1987, one son D.J. Quayle of Marquette, her mother, Judy Nease of Marquette, 2 brothers: Glenn (Jodi) Nease of Negaunee, Bob (Theresa) Nease of Marquette, 3 sisters: Lori Nease of Gwinn, Geri (Mike) Niemi of Ishpeming, Paula (Brad) Hupp, of Gwinn, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Jerry Nease on January 11, 2013. Vicki was a generous donor to the Midwest Eye Bank.

Funeral services celebrating Vicki’s life will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Negaunee at 4:00 PM on Tuesday with Rev. Tamra Harder officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 2:00 PM until the time of services at 4:00 PM on Tuesday. A luncheon will follow the service in the church hall.
